Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi - This popular drink you can find on the menu in every Indian Restaurant. Mango and yogurt is a combination to die for. It is prepared from just a few ingredients and it can be easily made at home from fresh, frozen or canned mangoes, yogurt and few spices. There is no easier Mango Lassi Recipe!

Ingredients:

Serves 4

  • 2 fresh mangoes
  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • ½ cup cold water or milk to adjust consistency
  • 8-10 tsp sugar (or to taste)
  • pinch of cardamom (optional)
  • pinch of cinnamon (optional)
  • crushed ice to serve
  • saffron, mint, chopped pistachios to garnish

How to make Mango Lassi:

  1. Place the peeled, seeded and chopped mango in a blender.
  2. Add the yogurt, water or milk, sugar.
  3. Blend it until smooth and frothy. You can add some more water if you like thinner consistency or blend in some ice. Some yogurts are thicker than the other.
  4. Fill glasses with crushed ice, pour in the lassi.
  5. Garnish with mint, chopped pistachios or saffron. Served chilled.

Tip: If you want a vegan version mango lassi use almond milk yogurt or/and almond milk.
