Plain Raita

There is nothing better than dipping a soft bread or crunchy veggies into cooling flavorful yogurt dip. Plain raita is a great addition to biryani, rice pulao, kebabs or any Indian spicy dishes.

Ingredients:

Serves 2

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp granulated sugar (optional)
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder to sprinkle on (optional)
  • ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder to sprinkle on (optional)
  • few mint leaves for decoration

How to make Plain Raita:

  1. In a bowl beat the yogurt.
  2. Add the other ingredients mix well and chill.
  3. Serve as a side dish with roti and as accompaniment to a main dish such as a biryani.
