Coffee with Cardamom

This Cardamom Coffee is a truly unique experience. The rich flavor of the coffee is perfectly complemented by the subtle hints of cardamom, adding a depth and complexity. Adding cardamom makes it a perfect dessert coffee you do not want to finish.

Serves 2

  • 2 cups water
  • 2-3 tsp instant coffee (other option is to use strong freshly made coffee from your coffee maker)
  • 5 green cardamom pods
  • sugar, artificial sweteaner (optional)
  • 1 cup milk (optional)

How to make Coffee wit Cardamom:

Method 1.

  1. Pour the water into a saucepan. Add cinnamon stick, cardamoms, cloves and star anise. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to a low and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the instant coffee, add the milk, mix it well and bring it to a boil.
  4. Strain into serving cups or mugs. Add sugar (optional). Sprinkle with ground nutmeg (optional). Serve hot.

Method 2.

  1. Pour milk into a saucepan. Add cinnamon stick, cardamoms, cloves and star anise (optional). Bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Make your coffee in your favorite coffee maker.
  4. When ready pour the milk flavored with Indian spice into cup with freshly made coffee.
  5. Add sugar to taste and spirkle with ground nutmeg (optional). Serve hot.


  • Masala Coffee taste great without milk.
  • Cinnamon stick can be replaced by cinnamon powder.
  • Milk can be replaced with almond milk.
