Turmeric Milk (Golden Milk)

The basic version is prepared by simply adding turmeric to heated milk. But other few spices such as cardamom, black pepper, ginger, cloves can be added. Turmeric milk is especially popular during the cold winter months.

Ingredients:

Serves 2

  • 4 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp turmeric or 2 inch piece fresh turmeric (2 tbsp grated turmeric)
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 2 cups milk
  • sugar, honey (otional)

How to make Turmeric (Golden Milk) Drink:

  1. Heat milk in a saucepan.
  2. Add cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks, star anise (optional). 1. Add fresh turmeric or turmeric powder. Let it simmer on medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Serve warm or chill in the refrigerator to serve cold.
