Sweet Lassi

This popular sweet and creamy lassi, made of yogurt, suigar and pinch of cardamom is a refreshing cooling drink and a perfect accompaniment to the hot and spicy Indian food.

Serves 4

  • 2 ½ cups plain yogurt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 4-5 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
  • pinch of ground cardamom from 2 pods (optional)
  • finely chopped pistachios, or frutis to decorate,
  • crushed ice to serve

How to make Sweet Lassi:

  • Pour yogurt, water, sugar, ground cardamom and ice into a blender.
  • Blend on a high setting for 1 minute.
  • Pour the lassi into tall glasses.
  • Sprinkle with chopped pistachios to decorate and serve immediately.
