Fried Onion Paste

Fried onion paste it is made just from slow cooked onions that are blended down to a paste with no other added ingredients.


  • ΒΌ cup canola oil
  • 2 Ib onions (cut in half lengthwise and thinly sliced)

How to make Fried Onion Paste:

  1. Preheat oil in a deep frying pan.
  2. Add the sliced onions once the oil get hot and shimmer.
  3. Cook them by stirring often for 15 to 20 minutes until they turn golden brown (slow cooking will give better results).
  4. Transfer the cooked onion to a separate plate to cool.
  5. Add the golden brown onions to a blender jar and add 2 tbsp of water. Blend it until it forms a smooth paste.
  6. Store the paste in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for upto 1 week or in the freezer for up to 1 month.
